Phones, laptops & consoles

The screen's cracked. You don't have to drive anywhere.

We do phone, tablet, laptop and console work on-site — your kitchen table, your office, the parking lot at your job. Most of it is finished while you wait instead of sitting in a shop for a week.

Phones & tablets

The four things that break.

Cracked glass and dead OLED

Glass-only cracks and full display replacements. If the screen is black but the phone still buzzes and rings, that's usually a display swap, not a dead phone.

Batteries that won't hold

Dropping from 80% to 20% in an hour, or shutting off in the cold. A battery is an hour of work and a fraction of a new phone.

Charging ports

The ones where you have to hold the cable at just the right angle. Usually lint packed in the port, sometimes a worn connector that needs to come off the board.

Cameras and lenses

Shattered rear lens glass, a camera that won't focus, or the shake you get after a drop. Camera units come out and go back in as a module.

Laptops & desktops

Slow isn't the same as finished.

A lot of the machines people are ready to throw out just need a drive and a battery. An SSD upgrade on a five-year-old laptop is the single biggest speed difference you can buy, and it costs a fraction of replacing the machine.

When it's actually a board fault, we can usually tell you that on the first visit instead of after you've spent money on parts.

  • SCREENSCracked panels, dead backlights, lines and flicker
  • KEYBOARDSDead keys, spills cleaned out, full keyboard swaps
  • STORAGESSD upgrades with your files carried across
  • POWERDC jacks, chargers that only work when held
  • HEATFans, vents and thermal paste on machines running hot
  • BOARDSComponent-level diagnosis before you buy anything

Consoles & wearables

Overheating, drift, and dead ports.

Consoles running hot or shutting off

Years of dust plus dried-out thermal paste. A cleanout and repaste brings the temperatures back down and usually stops the random shutdowns.

Controller stick drift

Character walks by itself, aim pulls to one side. That's the thumbstick module, and it's a soldering job rather than a new controller.

HDMI and power ports

No picture, or a console that only powers on when the cable sits a certain way. Both come back to connectors that have to be replaced on the board.

Smartwatch screens and batteries

Cracked faces and watches that won't make it through a day. Small work, tight tolerances, same on-site visit.
